Easingwold Library welcomes you and your family! 

We are your first stop for information about local services and a place to relax and enjoy books and reading. 

With a suite of computers with exclusive online resources that are free to use, regular activities for children and a friendly and knowledgeable team of staff and volunteers, we are working with local organisations and groups to offer you more and to build upon our role as the heart of the community.

To join, just ask at the library or you can join online at

Membership is FREE and anyone of any age can join.

The library contains a good range of childrens, adult and non-fiction books, media and computers , together with copying facilities and even a hot drinks machine!

Our library also has an excellent local history section where you can find old parish records and other past documentation on the local area.

You can find information and leaflets, internet and computer facilities, language courses, large print books, local studies.CD\'s and DVD\'s which can be loaned for a small rental fee. All areas are accessible to wheelchairs.

There has been a public library in Easingwold for many years and is today situated in the former Easingwold School building just off the Market Square. Above is the old Grammar School Motto - "Learn or Leave"!

It's a fact

Easingwold once had the shortest railway line in England (2.51 miles) but was closed in the 1950’s. The former Station Hotel still stands (now a private house) but the lines have long gone, The name lives on in the nearby “Station Court” housing estate
